New Farmyard Now Open

The brand new Alex and Ani Farmyard is now open at Roger Williams Park Zoo. This major exhibit features even more of the furry, fluffy and wooly friends we all love, as well as many interactive elements for Zoo visitors to experience.

A few of the biggest improvements to the Farmyard is a new walkthrough barn exhibit, and a life-sized tractor that kids can climb and play on. Sponsors like Little Rhody Farms and Munroe Dairy have contributed other fun play areas like the milking and egg collection stations. Also opening later in the season, will be the Farmyard Stage for performances and shows.

Finally, there is the exciting addition of the seasonal contact yard that allows Zoo visitors to walk among and touch different species of goats and Shetland sheep. The Contact Yard is open from April 1st through September 30th from 10:30am – 3:30pm on weekdays, and from 10am – 5pm on weekends. There are also goat and sheep feeding opportunities available year round on the fence just outside of the contact yard.

Visitors can look forward to seeing different species of goats, Shetland sheep, Guinea hogs, alpacas, and of course, Willy the miniature donkey is there as well! After the second phase is complete, the Alex and Ani Farmyard will also have silver fox rabbits, and chickens.

This exhibit is free with Zoo admission. There is a nominal fee for the food to feed the animals.

Providence - Second Annual Earth Day Spring Cleaning

Little Rhody Foods was a proud sponsor of the Partnership for Providence Parks' Second Annual Earth Day Spring Cleaning. Click here to see a copy of the thank you letter from the Mayor of Providence, Angel Tavares.

Little Rhody Foods is temporarily using styrofoam boxes instead of corrugated egg cartons due to a fire at our corrugated box manufacturing plant, Pactiv.

Great news!

You will find our original line of Little Rhody Eggs back in their recyclable, corrugated egg cartons.
Our goal is to have these earth-friendly cartons back on the shelves by April 20th, just in time for Easter!
Our premium line of Little Rhody Natural eggs are still available in their plastic, recyclable containers.

Along with many other egg companies, it has been a challenge for us to find another corrugated box manufacturer that will accept new business. Most of the plants are at full capacity.

Although you cannot put the styrofoam egg carton in your Rhode Island recycling bin, the cartons are recyclable through ReFoamIT, LLC, a local, specialized recycling program. Please feel free to collect and send your egg cartons to us and we will send them to ReFoamIT to be recycled. Only our regular Little Rhody Eggs have been affected. Our premium line of Little Rhody Natural eggs are still sold in clear, plastic containers that are recyclable.
Our address is:
